Have you signed up for the 5K Your Way event year? This fun event for Council and PCT employees is run in partnership with the seven Central London boroughs. Colleagues are encouraged to set a goal of walking, jogging or running the 5K distance, by entering online for 5K Your Way. Each borough is offering support via a series of free weekly training sessions, in the lead up to the event

5K Your Way will again be held in the beautiful setting of Regent’s Park, thanks to our partners at The Royal Parks.

Be the fittest borough

The central London boroughs are challenging their staff to walk, jog or run the 5K distance. As an added incentive there is a friendly challenge to be the fittest borough! Simply finishing 5K Your Way earns points for your borough.

Get in shape for the race

Want to improve your fitness and perform better? There is no need to train alone. Free weekly training sessions are on offer for all abilities, leading up to the event.

For details on Training Sessions, please see attached document on the right-hand side.

To view a 5K Training Plan, please see attached document on the right-hand side.

Entry Fee is £13. In return you get:

* A £5 donation to your Mayor’s chosen charity
* Access to free weekly training sessions in your borough
* A 5K Your Way 2009 T Shirt
* Water & bananas at the finish (no plastic bags this year as it’s not green!)
* A race timing service
* Prizes
* Online entry system (no more paper and cheques like last year)

Can you help?

The walkers, joggers and runners are only one part of the story. A team of volunteers works behind the scenes and on the day to make the event happen. And as the event grows we need more people to help us.
